Rehab Secrets

The rotator cuff is the common tendon attachment comprised of four muscles. The rotator cuff group function to provide stability to the shoulder as well as controlling the multiple movements the shoulder is capable of.

Rotator cuff tendonitis commonly occurs as a result of overuse or repetitive movements.

Rehab SECRETS for this condition are:

  1. Take anti-inflammatory medications as directed by your physician.
  2. Ice to the affected area for 20 minutes as needed.
  3. Decrease painful activity for 2-3 weeks.
  4. Avoid any activity above shoulder level.
  5. Stretching should not increase pain. Stretch in a pain-free range.
